How to Know You’re Ready to Invest on a New Brand & Website

Investing in your business is one of the best decisions you can make as a business owner. It helps you to reach that next level of growth and achievement that you are pursuing. A new brand and website is a type of investment that can have a really profound impact on your business growth. While it can be exciting to jump in and invest in a new brand and website, it is still important to keep in mind that it’s a big investment. You want to make sure you’re going about doing it in the correct way. This brings us to the question of:

“When is it the right time to invest in a new brand and website?”

“Is my business model working?” 

This one is a really important question to start with. You don’t want to be using a new brand and website as a bandaid to cover up a deeper problem with your business. Ideally, when you’re going into a new brand and website design, your business will already be in a healthy place, and the new designs will help accelerate your already strong and growing business. If you are at a place in your business where you are struggling to make sales and decide on your offers, you should first take the time to gain clarity on the value you are providing your audience. Having this solid foundation in place before investing will help ensure that your new brand and website will drive conversions for you and have a much longer lifespan.

“What are my goals for my brand and website?” 

Think about what you want your brand and website to do for your business. Is it to increase revenue, make more sales, position yourself better in your industry? You want to outline these goals before beginning on your new design so you are able to share them with your designer and keep them as a guiding light throughout your design process. Also take the time to assess whether or not a new brand and website design will actually help you accomplish those goals, as they are not always the answer to your business problems. However, most of the time, they are extremely beneficial to your business growth.

Does your brand and website accurately reflect your business?

Ask yourself if your business has made any big shifts in the past year- a change in clientele, your offers, etc. If you are at the point where your current business model isn’t in alignment with your brand and website, it’s likely a great time to invest! You will be able to attract more of your dream clients and close deals in a more confident way whenever your brand and website fully reflect where you are currently at in your business.

Do you have a way to drive people to your website? 

It won’t matter how amazing your website is if you don’t have a way of getting people there to see it and click around. Ask yourself if you have a steady way of driving visitors to your site. That can be through email lists, social media, organic marketing, word of mouth,etc. If you don’t already have a way to drive website traffic, you may want to take the time and discover a way you can market your business before investing in a new brand and website. This will help ensure that you are able to quickly experience a return on your investment after you launch your new site.

Is your website making any sales for you currently, and is it doing that in a passive way? 

Your website should be acting as a 24/7 selling machine for you. You should be able to make sales on your site even while you’re sleeping. If your website is not currently doing that for you, and instead every sale has come through sales calls or manual proposals, your website is not doing its job to the fullest extent. If this is the case, it’s likely a good time to invest in a new brand and website for your business.
